11/20/01: Pretty Polly will begin playing live shows again as of December. Rehearsals have gone well & we're looking forward both to playing live again, & to having you all meet our bassist John. 'The Great Below' full length has been maped out with hopes to record within the next month. For full track listing, check out The Great Below page. Please feel free to drop an e-mail to either Stevie D. or Rob G. thru the contact page & let us know what's on your minds.

10/30/01: Band rehearsals are progressing nicely. Please check back periodically for live show information. We're looking forward to performing live again. Happy Halloween!!! Visit: Halloween Movies.com.

10/16/01: John Walsh is officially the new bassist for Pretty Polly! Welcome aboard, John. We'd also like to take a moment to thank those of you who have gone out & bought our album. Much to our surprise, they sold out at Tower Records in Massapequa Park & are selling well at other Long Island locations also. So, thank you very much, we appreciate the support. No thanks to the girl who tried to return our CD to CD Warehouse in Rockville Centre. I wish she whould've contacted us so we could have refunded her money. I just hope that whomever she is, she gave it more then one listen. Steve's other band, 'Prescott C.' received a favorable review in the latest Under The Volcano (issue #64, page 54) In other good news, we'd like to congratulate Jay Catropa (drummer & collaborator in 'The Great Below'/ as well as model for most of the Pretty Polly front covers) on his recent engagement.

10/3/01: Pretty Polly received a favorable review in the Island Ear newspaper this week. (issue 579, pg. 21) Read the review on the review page. Thank you Bernadette Giacomazzo for the kind words.

9/26/01: We're currently aiming to record a cover of the Sunny Day Real Estate track '8', as well as a re-record our song 'Because You Were Lonely'. Both tracks will most likely appear on a Pretty Polly sampler we are planning to give out at future shows. We're still looking for a bass player, so get in touch if you know someone who'd be interested.

9/24/01: The events of the past few weeks has been unbelievable. We are saddened by the tragedy from Sept.11th & we have all been effected by them somehow. If you're from New York, you will have been directly effected by this senseless terrorist act. All we can do is send out our love & concern for those people effected. The only positive thing to come out of this was to see how amazing people can be to each other in a time of crisis and need. The support, donations, and concerns has completely restored my faith in the human spirit. Also, on Sept.10th, we lost our good friend Joey Miller. He was a dear friend of ours & an extremely supportive person for all of our artistic endeavors. We miss you so much already. I know I wouldn't be the person I am today if not for the support of my dear friend. -rg.

8/29/01: The full length CD 'Somewhere Between Then And Now' is now officially available for $7.99 at various Long Island locations. Go to the contact/ purchase info page to find the music shop nearest to you.

8/23/01: The history page is finally up & running. It's a complete history of all the demo's that Steve & I recorded from the band's inception up until right before the 'Getting Over It' CD EP. Thanx to Jay Catropa who actually saved every one of those demos and supplied me with the covers for the history page. Speaking of... since Pretty Polly is still in the audition process of finding a new bass player, Jay and I have decided to record a full length with our project 'The Great Below'. We're aiming to record 11 or so songs for an as yet untitled CD. Stevie D. will be doing the recording honors for us. Check back here for more details.

8/6/01: This became official as of today. Pretty Polly will contribute a cover of the song 8 for a Sunny Day Real Estate comp. CD. Check back soon for more details.

8/5/01: Welcome to the Pretty Polly news page! We were that Long Island band that every one has heard of but has never actually heard. Well, now that we're back together after a 2 year hiatus, we plan to change all that. We've got some big things planned within the next few months so please check back periodically for updates & news.

We'd like to thank those few of you that actually have heard of us and saw us play those countless gigs during our initial run as a band. We are back because of your encouragement. (and because ya kept bothering us to get back together!)

We are currently looking for a bass player to help promote our new full length CD, so please e-mail us at either prettypollyrg@aol.com or astronautrobbins@yahoo.com if interested & if you're in the New York area.

Steve & I were working on the music for 2 new songs yesterday and things are going well. We're not in a rush though since that full length took a lot out of us. If I had to compare the new songs to anything, I'd say they are comparable to 'For You' & 'A Prayer For Rain'. We'll keep you posted on when we plan on playing them. So, thanks again. Look for many updates to follow within the next few weeks and as always... keep the faith!
