12/16/02: We apologize for the lack of updates, but November was quiet for the band. We have a few shows for this month and next, including a benifit show at the Union Square Lounge in Merrick on Saturday, Dec 21st. Keep checking back to the live page for more details on this and other upcoming shows, The band is trying out something a little new and different which we can't disclose as of yet. It will however involve a brand new 8 song CD EP which we hope to have recorded and out by January. A lyric page and new images will soon be posted along with a new intro to promote this CD. Please check back periodically for details on this new release & come down and show your support at one of our upcoming performances. Thanks for your patience and happy holidays!

10/21/02: A few updates. Pretty Polly has finally recieved a review in the Long Island magazine Under The Volcano. To read the review, click here. Thanks to Myk for the fairly favorable & honest review. The tour initially planned for November has been postponed. The band are planning a possible new sampler with new material & plan to tour early 2003. There have been slight changes in the new songs as well. 'Over run' has undergone some rewrites & now has a different melody. The melodies & chorus to 'Sympathy' are still being tweeked, and the working titles for the following have been changed. 'Midlife Identity Crisis' is now 'Problem Solving'. 'Easily Forgetable' is now 'High Expectations'. We hope to have clips up on the mp3 page soon. Check back soon for details.

9/5/02: After much delay, Pretty Polly are back and working on brand new songs for a potential second full length for sometime next year. The band have about 6 new songs blue-printed including 'Sympathy', 'Midlife Identity Crisis', 'Easily Forgetable', 'What Everyone Knows', as well as the sampler tracks 'Rebound' & 'Overrun'. These songs will be showcased in various upcoming shows along with material from 'Somewhere Between Then & Now', which the band plan to promote with an upcoming short tour in November. Thanks to those that gave their support, cheers and votes at the open-stage of the Munchaba Lounge in Levittown this past Tuesday. It was good to be back on stage again. This Tuesday the band will try the open mic at The Downtown in Farmingdale, so come on down. Also, the website will undergo slight changes and a new format, so please feel free to share your thoughts & comments. We recently found a few old reviews for the 'Getting Over It' E.P. we put out a while back. Check them out on the review page. 8/24/02: Check back soon for updates and info on the first potential Pretty Polly tour. Pretty Polly is aiming to do an east coast tour in November, with potential stops in the mid US as well, if people start writing us back! If all goes well, then Pretty Polly will attempt to tour the West Coast thru-out California and Arizona early next year. Packages have gone out to various people in various states with promo cd's and flyers for the band. Look out for a free cd at a local record store by you! 8/7/02: Pretty Polly have completed writing another new song tenatively titled 'Sympathy'. Pretty Polly also has a brand new interview posted on www.longislandmusicscene.com about their album. Click the link to the site or check the interview page to read it now. Robg. has completed an 11 song CD entitled 'The Return Of Her Majesty: Acoustic songs by Robg'. Look for info and details to be posted soon on how to recieve your free copy. Robg. will also be working on a score for an independent short film for friend Matthew Schuchman later in the year. More to follow on that project. Pretty Polly needs some good street teamers to hand out free sampler CD's and flyers at upcoming shows, music stores and/or to friends in your area. 6/3/02: There are some new songs on the site. Go to the MP3 page to hear or download them. All MP3's on the site are also on the lyric pages. Check out 'Rebound (for a month)' and 'Overrun' now! Also our CD is now also available at the CD Warehouse in rockville center.

5/28/02: I'm happy to share that Pretty Polly finally got in some quality studio time this past weekend to finish up 2 demos that we started before Steve's accident. One for 'Rebounded' & the other for 'Overrun'. Both tracks will eventually be featured on a new sampler the band plans on using for promotion & street team use. MP3's of both tracks will hopefully be up on this site by early next week. Also, there were a lot of additions and updates on the site including new artwork and images to the works in progress pages, so please browse thru and let us know what you think.

5/27/02: Pretty Polly have received some pretty amazing contributions to this site from fans and friends. There is a new FAN-ART section added to the site which features a piece of graphic art designed and sent to us by our friend Bach.

5/22/02: Steve's other band Prescott C. received a favorable review from www.longislandmusicscene.com. Check it out.

5/10/02: Pretty Polly is working on putting together sampler CD's with selections from our full length, as well as 2 new songs recorded from rehearsals. If anyone is interested in joining our street team, please e-mail us, and we will send you a package with sampler CD's & flyers to hand out.

4/26/02: Sorry that we've been missing in action. Steve was involved in a car accident and although he's ok, we decided to take a break on playing live until he makes a full recovery from this ordeal. Thanks to everyone for showing their support and concerns. We will be back soon. Promise.

4/11/02: More new lyrics have been added to the Works In Progress page. Check them out & we'd appreciate your feedback via e-mail. The CB's gig is one week from today. Thursday April 18th at 8PM. which will be followed by a local Long Island gig at The Village Pub in Massapequa on Saturday April 20th. This show will consist of 2 full sets (a first for Pretty Polly) with different songs for both sets. Please come show your support for both gigs.

4/6/02: Pretty Polly have completed 3 new songs titled 'Rebound (for a month)' aka Rebounded, 'Midlife Identity Crisis', and 'Overrun'. Lyrics for 'Rebound (for a month)' can be seen on the new Works In Progress page. An MP3 is to follow shortly. Also, Pretty Polly have a few shows on the way including a gig at CBGB. Check the live page for details. Pretty Polly recieved a favorable review from www.longislandmusicscene.com. On a related note, Stevie D. has completed a new CD EP with his band 'Prescott C.' titled 'Tabloid Fever'. It's available now & it is the band's best effort thus far.

3/16/02: Tonight's show has been cancelled. Pretty Polly collectively apologies to anyone who had intentions of coming tonight. However, we have finally secured and set up a show at the legendary CBGB in NYC. The show will be Thursday April 13th at 8pm. Check out the live page for details. Special thanks to the 4 people who made it to Under Acme show. (Our first city gig in years.) Some shows are better then others.

3/6/02: There is a brand new interview on the interview page which was conducted & edited via e-mail by Fred from the band 'Noon To Five'. The interview is to be featured in a magazine which will be giving out at a huge Long Island all day showcase that Fred is putting together for late April. Click here to read it. This upcoming Saturday is a Pretty Polly performance at the Union Square Lounge. Then, Wednesday March 13th will be our first city gig since we got back together at the Under Acme. 2/27/02: More gigs added. Please periodically check out the live page for more details as they arrive. Also, we'd like to thank all of you yet again for helping our full length sell out of the Massapequa Park Tower Records for the second time. We were pleasently surprised & very gratefull. We'll be bringing more cd's there soon, as well as also bringing them to the Carle Place Tower and Utopia. Check the contact page for more locations on where you can pick up the album.

2/21/02: There is now an interview page on the official Pretty Polly page with an interview by Mike Kerr of 'The Pistol Wips'. Check it out by clicking here. Also, 'The Great Below' received an interesting and favorable review from Good Times magazine for their cassette EP 'A Fallen Sorrow' which was released in 99. It's on the review page. More Pretty Polly gigs are in the works, including some Manhattan dates. Check the live page for more info. Pretty Polly will debut their new song 'Rebounded' at this Sunday's gig in West Islip, Long Island. The band hopes to record the track and put up an MP3 complete with lyrics as soon as possible. Check back on the MP3 page soon.

1/31/02: Pretty Polly have secured a few shows on the Island within the next few months, so check out the live page for more details. We've also been working on setting up a mini tour for April and a full fledged tour in the summer if possible. (The February tour fell thru due to lack of dates) So, if anyone knows anyone we should talk to about getting a gig in their hometown or college then please e-mail us the info. Pretty Polly also wrote their first collabrative effort this past weekend & the band is very proud of the results. It's going under the working title of 'Rebounded'& will most likely be performed at the next live gig.

1/9/02: Welcome to the new year! All is well on the Pretty Polly front. We have a few shows in the works for the next month, and plenty of updates on the site, including MP3's, additional links, and a section devoted to all Pretty Polly related projects including 'Prescott C.' & 'The Great Below'.
