11/25/06: Gosh, it's been a long time since we've checked in on our "official" site! I guess with My Space, it makes it harder. Anyways, first and foremost, Happy Holidays!!! Here's what we've got in store for you for your holiday weekend...

Since last time we check in, we've uploaded 2 MORE BRAND NEW PRETTY POLLY TRACKS!!?! You can head over to our MY SPACE profile and listen to 'PERFECT TIMING (FOR ALL OF MY FRIENDS)' and a very special track 'LAST WORDS'. That means that you can hear the first 5 tracks off the FAREWELL CD on MY SPACE. Ain't that something?!

We're STILL mixing the rest, but I assure you it's coming.

Also, I've added a few pictures to the Making of FAREWELL page from the last-minute backing vocal session I did. Check them out on THIS link. And even cooler, I've updated the VIDEO CLIPS page. You can now watch 16 video clips in either My Space or You Tube video players. They're side by side, so it's up to you. Some clips are from our Prom Night 7 show back in June of 2006. Other's are from our Limited Edition 'NOW OR NEVER' DVD. Either way, take a few minutes and check them all out. They're all pretty fun.

Hopefully, we'll give this site a good revamp soon. I'm looking to make this website into a tribute to Pretty Polly. Steve and I have been making music together now for over 10 years and it's been an amazing 10 years. Sure, it's been hard as hell too, and people have been cruel and unsupportive along the way, but none of that COMPARES to the love, friendship and support we've gotten in the past few years from our fans, friends and family. So, slowly but surely, I'll be uploading pictures & MP3 snippets dating way back to the beginning. Whew! Hope you're ready! Don't forget to ADD us on My Space and Subscribe to our blogs there. That's usually where the first updates are posted. More in a bit! -Robg.

8/23/06: We just uploaded another BRAND NEW PRETTY POLLY TRACK TO OUR MY SPACE PROFILE!!! This is one that Stevie D screams. It's full title? "YOU CAN MAKE IT SO MUCH BETTER (I DON'T EVEN FOLLOW MY OWN ADVICE)"

Head on over to our MY SPACE profile at WWW.MYSPACE.COM/PRETTYPOLLY to check it out, along with the final mixes of 'IN FRONT OF YOU' and 'MEANT TO BE'. Also, we're new to the world of TAGWORLD. We uploaded a bunch of songs, both old and new on there. Our profile is at WWW.TAGWORLD.COM/PRETTYPOLLY.

8/19/06: Greetings! We found an old live montage video clip and posted it on You Tube!!! The clip is from our 'NOW OR NEVER' CD release show back in February 2005. It also marked Eric's last show with us. Check it out at THIS LINK!!! More updates to come! We swear!!! -robg.

6/19/06: Howdy folks! For fun, we're going to post a "video of the day" for the next week or so via the bulletin's on 'My Space'. Once in the morning and again at night of something PRETTY POLLY related. Today, it's the music video for Stevie D.'s other band 'BRICKS FOR SHOULDERS'. The song? "You've Got To Be Kidding Me". You can check out the BRICKS video at THIS YOU TUBE LINK. Enjoy! -robg.

6/18/06: So, the PROM NIGHT show came & went and it was a success! Thank you to all the friends, fans and supporters who made it down. I know a lot of people couldn't make it, so with a little luck, hopefully it won't be our last show! Special thanks to Mikey Kerr and The Pistol Wips for having us on the PROM NIGHT show, and of course, thanks so much to Matt Hollywood for filling in for us. We had a great time and it was one of our best performances.

I was editing video clips from the PROM NIGHT show last night with Matt Schuchman and we're hoping to have a few video clips on line soon enough, so keep checking back for the links. In the meantime, ALL of the features from the limited edition 'NOW OR NEVER' DVD, which came with the first 100 copies of our CD EP for 'NOW OR NEVER' are NOW ON LINE!!! That's right. We uploaded the 4 short featurettes to both MY SPACE and YOU TUBE. In fact, the best place to contact us is via our My Space page, so please add us on there and get in touch.

Check out the videos, say hello, and again, we're about to go into the mixing stages for our full length 'FAREWELL TO THE PROMISED ONES'. We'll have samples on line soon. We'll be completely upgrading the website soon enough and pulling out photos and music from the 'POLLY' vaults. We're also once again looking for a bassist, so once one is secured, we're hoping to be able to play again.

Until then, you cna hear music from myself via my score profile on My Space (www.myspace.com/robgscore) and keep tabs on Stevie D. and his band BRICKS FOR SHOULDERS. (Also on My Space at www.myspace.com/bricksforshoulders). More soon! -robg.

5/27/06: So, in case you haven't heard via our My Space profile, we're actually got a show booked!!! We'll be getting back together on stage for PROM NIGHT SE7EN: WHAT'S IN THE BOX!!! An event that will also feature The Pistol Wips, The Confidentials (also reunited) and A Date With Destiny. The show is taking place Saturday, June 10th, 2006 at The Vintage Lounge located at 58 Gardiner's Ave., Levittown, NY. Show starts at 9pm. Matt Hollywood from the Pistol Wips will be filling in on bass for us for this show. We're looking forward to it. I hope there are some people out there that still care! Either way, we'll be there and we hope you folks will be too. Check out the awesome ads Mikey from the PW's put together on our LIVE page. -robg.

4/28/06: BRAND NEW PRETTY POLLY SONG UP!!! That's right, folks. I went into the studio again last night to add a few more background vocals tracks and harmonies, and I ended up coming home with another rough mix of a completed song. It's called 'MEANT TO BE' and it's exclusively on our My Space profile RIGHT NOW!!! GO CHECK IT OUT!!! I'm very proud of the way this record has turned out. And I have to thank Sean for his patient, hard work and friendship. He's doing a kick ass job. More soon! -robg.

4/9/06: Howdy folks! So, we finished up ALL the vocal tracks for the NEW PRETTY POLLY!!! We may tweak some things. Add more background vocals depending on how the rough mixes sound, but for now the actual recording process is over! Which means now we move onto mixing! Hopefully, we'll have at least one more NEW song to debut on our My Space profile shortly. Can't wait to share it with you folks!!!

In the meantime, feel free to scroll down on The Making of FAREWELL CD page for pictures from yesterday's studio session. Steve thought he'd be a wise-ass and screw around with my camera while I wasn't looking, but it's I who will have the last laugh. Check out the pics and you MAY see a very revealing Stevie D. shot. Enjoy! And more soon! - robg.

4/7/06: TOMORROW MORNING... WE FINISH OUR ALBUM!!! That's the battle plan for Saturday, April 8th, 2006!!!

Howdy, folks. We know it's been a really long time since we've checked in, but Steve and I have been keeping busy!

Steve's been working hardcore by promoting his band BRICKS FOR SHOULDERS. If you haven't heard of them, check out their My Space profile because they kick major ass! AND if you're in LONG ISLAND, they're playing tomorrow night! Check their profile out for the details:

MySpace.com/BRICKSFORSHOULDERS

As far as myself? I've been working hardcore on the Icons Of Fright website and setting up my "scoring" studio to continue doing music for some independent projects, there's a few links below for all that stuff.

MySpace.com/ICONSOFFRIGHT
Icons Of Fright website
MySpace.com/Robgscore

However, this weekend we plan on completing whatever's left to be done on the NEW PRETTY POLLY release! We've got a batch of GREAT new tunes we're really proud of. Seriously, I don't think we could possibly muster any more of our hearts into these songs. Wait 'til you hear them all.

For now, check out 'IN FRONT OF YOU' on our My Space profile which opens the new album out. And we also re-recorded an older tune called 'THE WAITING' which will also appear on the new disc.

We'll check in again tomorrow night with a report from the studio and hopefully some pictures. Til then, thank YOU for your continued support. -Robg./PRETTY POLLY

12/29/05: Check out 2 more VIDEO CLIPS on our VIDEO PAGE!!! One is a short segment called 'PRACTICE' and the other is 'LIVE' which features clips from our first 'Now Or Never' show. All the video clips on the site are from our now out-of-print DVD 'NOW OR NEVER'. Enjoy them all and have a safe and happy new year! Who know's what 2006 may bring? -rg.

12/21/05: Check out the re-recorded "re-duxed" version of 'THE WAITING' exclusively on My Space, along with the opening track of our new CD 'IN FRONT OF YOU'!!! All the music is done for the new Pretty Polly. We just have a few more vocal sessions and it's done! Thanks for the continued support and happy holidays to all!!! -rg.

12/6/05: We just posted some more pictures from the recording session on the 4th to the Making of FAREWELL page. I went into the studio to complete/touch up all the guitar & bass tracks. ALL the music is officially complete!!! Head over to our My Space profile to hear the opening track!!! More to come!!! - robg.

11/30/05: Check out a BRAND NEW PRETTY POLLY song from our upcoming CD on our MY SPACE profile NOW!!!

11/21/05: Wow! It's been a while since I checked in via the website, so I apologize for my absense! But things are really starting to heat up again for PRETTY POLLY and Steve and I couldn't be more thrilled. We are DONE recording ALL the music for the brand new Pretty Polly CD!!! All that's left are vocals, a few guitar additions and mix down! Wait 'til you hear this NEW stuff!!!

We've been trying our best to keep track of our studio sessions, so I just added a MAKING OF FAREWELL TO THE PROMISED ONES page. There's a bunch of pics from our various studio sessions. Sadly, we missed out on the first day when Steve laid down his drum tracks. But no worries, we'll catch him in the studio when he does vocals/screams!

So, check out the pics. Make sure you check in with us on our My Space profile. And if all goes well, we will have a rough mix of a brand new song by the end of the month to share!

In other news, I've added another My Space profile for my score work. You can hear samples of things I'm doing for some independent film projects HERE. Don't forget to visit Steve at Myspace.com/BricksForShoulders. He's secured a drummer and should be playing out again soon!!! I had planned to direct a short horror film, but have opted to finish this Pretty Polly CD before all else. The best is yet to come! -robg.

9/21/05: Pretty Polly will begin recording a brand new CD on Sunday October 2nd!!! We are once again working with Sean (With Every Idle Hour) who recorded and produced our last CD 'Now Or Never'. (Which we may go back and re-mix. More on that in a bit.)

Steve and myself plan on going in and recording 5 brand new songs (titles pending), along with 4 older tracks - revamped. (Sympathy, The Waiting, and Obsolete. The forth track will be a surprise unlisted track.) A lot of hard work and effort have led up to this CD.

We currently do not have a live version of the band, as we haven't had a bass player since February of this year. Anyone interested in filling in for a few shows after the release of the new CD, please e-mail us at PrettyPollyRG@aol.com (Or via our my space profile - www.myspace.com/prettypolly.) At the moment, Steve is prepping for a short month-long tour with his band Bricks For Shoulders. However, he's looking for a drummer. Any interested parties, e-mail him at astronautrobbins@hotmail.com. (Or contact him via his band's my space account - www.myspace.com/bricksforshoulders.)

I'm currently prepping to shoot my first short film. It'll be a 10 minute horror movie titled "If I Die Before I Wake..."

Either way, despite other projects, we're really looking forward to recording and delivering THE best Pretty Polly music yet. For those of you still with us, thanks a million. -robg.

8/2/05: So, this is the long overdue update on all things Pretty Polly. It's obviously been a difficult year for us, and this isn't easy to summarize, but I'll give it my best shot.

As you all know, we have been unable to find a suitable replacement on bass since February of 2005. We've met some great people who gave it their best shot, but weren't up to speed on where Steve and I were musically. And then we had other's with great promise who either never called us back or never showed up for practice. (A fantastic way to waste CD's, by the way.) This has been the most frustrating period I've ever had being in a band. Especially when the music we have now was finally at the level I had always hoped it'd be. Nothing can take away from the hard work Steve & I put into 'Now Or Never'. But I'm terribly saddened, because I know we can do even better & would have continued to do better, if given the right set of circumstances. That just doesn't seem to be the case.

This doesn't mean that we're "breaking up". I've always considered that a silly notion. No matter what, Steve and myself will always be Pretty Polly. If 5 years from now, Steve and I meet up at a studio and write new songs, then that'll be new Pretty Polly. Plain and simple. What all this means is... that Pretty Polly is no longer taking precedence when it comes to our lives. Steve has been putting all his heart and soul into 'Bricks For Shoulders' and his new CD really is fantastic. I completely support and encourage him to do whatever he has to do to get out the music that I know means the most to him.

As for me, I honestly have lost all interest in playing in a band due to our circumstances of being a "struggling" band from Long Island. Never in my life, or in any other field - have I met so many stuck up, arrogant, terribly hearted horrible human beings as Long Island musicians and well... all these "emo" kids... all of whom used to be the "hard-core" kids that never gave us a chance to begin with. Quite frankly, I really do not care if anyone or everyone listens to anything I create ever again. THAT is how disappointed I've become being in a band.

Instead, my love of horror movies & movies in general has been the current love of my life. Most of you have followed the success of the Icons Of Fright website. And right now, I'm currently scoring music for the Dante Tomaselli flick 'The Ocean'. Jsyn and myself have made a lot of contacts thru the site to keep ourselves busy working on what we love most. That being horror films. Doing instrumental music for a director has been more fulfilling and emotional for me then anything I've done before. And if I can continue doing that, then I will.

So, if you're still reading, you're probably wondering what's next for the entity known as Pretty Polly. Despite all of the above, we DO still exist and despite what I said before, I DO love Pretty Polly with all my heart and soul. It is a HUGE part of who I am, and it is a HUGE part of my life. Maybe we could have been wiser and done things a little differently thru-out the years, but it's pointless to dwell on such things now.

Currently, we have 5 brand new songs, all of which blow away 'Now Or Never'. Originally, Steve & I were going to tweak these songs, and then record them with Sean, re-record some older "classics", and combine them all with the 'Now Or Never' tracks to form a full length. Two titles we were throwing around were 'Farewell To The Promised Ones' or 'Farewell From The Forgotten Ones'. However, I'd really like to compliment the 5 new songs with 5 more equally as good songs. So, we're going to rehearse and write a bit more before heading into the studio with Sean again. (I will handle bass and backing vocal duties on this recording).

Our good friend Matthew Schuchman (who did the 'Now Or Never' EPK DVD) will be documenting the whole process for a documentary that I hope to package with the final album when it's complete. There's no rush on this, so we're going to take our time. And if there is a brave enough soul out there, or even a friend or musician who respects us enough to step up and play bass with us thru-out the year for a few live shows, we'd be so appreciative. I'm not going out of my way to find that person anymore. I'd rather have a friend volunteer to play with us and have fun doing it.

There will be changes on the official site too. We have so many pictures and demos and stories from every era of Pretty Polly. So, slowly but surely, I will be reworking the site to be a complete history of everything we've done. Because weather it was good or bad, it is history. And it's OUR history and I don't regret any of it. Those of you who wronged us along the way, we will expose you in due time, because it's not like we have anything to lose. So, beware. Be prepared.

After the full length, Steve and I would love to possibly re-record a lot of older songs and make a 'Best Of' style disc. We'd even like to re-record 'Somewhere Between Then & Now' in it's entirety. All with Sean. We want to make Sean our Brad Wood. Our Steve Albini. The guy who does all the records for this band. And we look forward to it.

We will always be here, either on this site or wherever else. And we always love and respect any & all the friends we've made along the way whom write us, come to our shows & send their support. Please don't be discouraged to get in touch with either Steve or myself at anytime. We will always make an effort to take some time to talk to anyone who contacts us. Once the new recordings are under way, we'll post some more updates.
In the meantime, seriously... thank you for everything.
- robg./Pretty Polly

6/22/05: So, Steve and I have been in the studio working on a batch of new songs for a potential new CD. I wasn't sure how we could approach following up 'Now Or Never', especially since we have yet to promote it properly, but these current new songs are really special & we're really excited about what's to come. Mikey was helping us realize the structures of these news songs by filling in on bass at practice, but he has since left us to concentrate on his career as a school teacher. His objective opinions helped us put our ideas together for these new songs in a really great way, and we appreciate his help & contributions.

We have a few more auditions set up, so depending on how those go, we will decide what we're going to do within the next month or so. If we secure a new bassist, then we continue finishing up the new songs and start playing live again. If we don't, then Steve and I will write a few more new songs to compliment the 4 we have now, and we go back to the studio with Sean to record a new Pretty Polly album. Either way, we're going to keep busy. Stick with us & thanks for your patience and concerns. -robg.

5/31/05: For those of you interested in the whereabouts of the band known as Pretty Polly...

Well, believe it or not, despite our public hiatus, we are still alive and kicking. As most of you know, our last bass player Eric left the band back in February around the time we finally finished our much delayed CD EP 'Now Or Never'.

The honest truth? We've since found it next to impossible to find a suitable replacement. We've tried out a number of bass players, but none of them have seemed to fit perfectly into what we feel the band should be. And If we're going to play live again, I'd like to have no doubt in my mind that it'll be with the best version of the band possible. So, we're still searching for that perfect combo.

In the meantime, we've been keeping as active as possible. Our good friend Mike Kerr, singer/ guitarist/ songwriter for 'The Pistol Wips' has been filling in at practice sessions as our bass player & will most likely be with us for a few potential shows thru-out the summer. We will continue to audition bassists looking to join on a more permanant basis, but we just didn't want to remain inactive for the entire summer. Mike's a good friend that Steve and I love and respect & we've been having a great time playing with him so far. It's been interesting to play both old & new songs, and fun to work on some brand new material together. We've got about 3 new songs together, and all I can say is that they are very straight forward, catchy, & melodic hard rock songs. Very much in the spirit of what we started doing with the 'Now Or Never' EP.

We apologize for not keeping in touch as much as we used to. Obviously, being in this situation hasn't been easy on us, and we were really hoping that we could have had a more promising annoucement by now. We'll just take it one step at a time, and hope for the best. And we thank those of you still with us. Especially our true friends for showing such wonderful devotion & unbelievable encouragment. Thanks to all of you. Your comments & messages mean the world to us.

Much love. -robg./Pretty Polly

5/12/05: Just for the record, I got to hear rough mixes of Steve's new 'Bricks For Shoulders' EP that he recorded with Sean & it is AWESOME! Wait until you guys hear this bad boy. Well worth the wait. In Polly news, well... things are quiet. We're still trying out as many potential bassists as possible. We had a friend come in for a practice & it looks like he may stick with us so we can start playing live again. Something that both Steve and I are very eager to do. It seems we didn't have a fair chance at performing or promoting 'Now Or Never', so if anything, this friend (who shall remain nameless for now) may help us out during the summer while we continue to audtion people & wait for the right fit. More soon. -rg.

5/9/05: Steve has a good studio session last night with Sean for the new 'Bricks For Shoulder's' CD. When it's done and there are details on it's release, we will let you know. Robg. is prepping to finally record 'The Great Below' full length. A different drummer will be in place for the recording session. (Otherwise, it'll NEVER happen!) More details on that soon. Pretty Polly continues to audition potential bassists. We've met some great peeps, but Eric is not an easy chap to replace. We're waiting for the right person to click. So, hopefully soon. -rg.

4/29/05: Hey folks. The site's been down for the past few days! Sorry about that but apperantly the web hosting company we run this site thru had some problems with their servers. Everything should be up and running again as of now.

In site related news, with the summer now upon us and no live band yet, we're going to be adding a few interesting new features on this site and expanding upon the history of Pretty Polly. As some of you may or may not know, Steve and I have been playing together for 10 years now. Ever since we first picked up our instruments. Along the way, we've played countless shows, recorded dozen's of demos and taken lots of pics along the way. So, we're going to give you a sneak peak and listen to all the things we've done along the way soon. Sort of a retrospective. If anything, it'll be a hoot for us to relive different times in Polly history. We hope you'll enjoy them as well. Check back soon for that.

More soon. -rg.

4/24/05: I know we've been a little out of the loop for a while's now, so I just wanted to check in and say hello again to all the wonderful friends and supporters we've had the pleasure of talking to in the past year or so. Please feel free to check in with us and let us know how you're doing. Feel free to download any of the MP3's we have to offer. And if you haven't yet, please pick up the new cd 'Now Or Never'. We worked very hard on it and it IS available now. We just got in some pretty bad-ass stickers and pins, so if you order a cd, we will of course throw in some stickers & pins.

As far as playing live again? It'll happen soon. It hasn't been easy for Steve and myself since Eric left the band, but we've been keeping busy with various projects and auditioning new bass players here and there. I think we may have found a suitable replacement and once that's official, I shall make an announcement about the live version of the band. We miss all you fine folks, so we're looking forward to playing live again and hearing from you! Much love -robg.

4/19/05: We've got two people auditioning this week for our bass player slot, so hopefully things will progress soon. In the meantime, our new CD IS available now. Please purchase a copy either via mail or paypal if you haven't already! -rg.

4/11/05: Apperantly, we have to discuss our plans to record further, so who knows now when we'll have more new music. In the meantime, I've finally got around to putting pictures up from our last show in the picture gallery section of the site. You can go directly to the index for the Pretty Polly: Now Or Never CD Release show by follwing the link on this text. We got a mention in the latest issue of Aural Fix Volume 5, Issue 4 on page 22. Go to our review page to check it out. One way or another, next week we'll announce some decisions for the future of Pretty Polly. -rg.

3/28/05: Hey now! So, one thing's for sure. Steve and I will be going back into the studio to record within the next two weeks. We're going to continue sessions we did with Sean for 'Now Or Never' (since he did such a fantastic job on that CD) and re-record some older Pretty Polly tracks. We're batting around 5 or 6 potentials, but 'Sympathy', 'The Waiting' and 'Obsolete' (for Wilkie) will be among the songs we record. It should be exciting. We're also going to demo up some instrumental music on Steve's 4 track for possible use in an upcoming horror film. Still too early to say anything about that, but it'll be an interesting challenge & we're up for it. There's one more project we had in mind as well, but it's still a ways off. Especially since we're also working on new 'Bricks For Shoulders' and 'The Great Below' recordings.

Also, as most of you know, our former bassist Eric sang and played guitar in a band called 'Old College Try', which also happens to be one of our all time favorite local bands. They recently got back together in the studio to complete work on their aborted last recording. Their CD should be done soon, but in the meantime, visit their my space profile at myspace.com/oldcollegetry. -rg.

3/23/05: Howdy, folks. Steve and I just wanted to check in and send our hellos. Sadly, we've had no luck finding a bass player as of yet. I won't lie and say I'm not bitter about the current situation. I was really looking forward to being able to perform 'Now Or Never' for more then the one show we got to do with the CD's. You can feel free to purchase the CD or CD/DVD combo via mail or Paypal. We appreciate any and all support.

In the meantime, we had a discussion about what to do in the meantime while we continue to look at options for putting a live band back together and it looks like we have a few ideas stirring. It will all involve recording within the next month or so. Too early to give out actual details, but we've got a few things in mind and all of these proposed projects are very exciting & different for Pretty Polly. So, if anything it should be interesting. Sorry to be so vague but let's just say without the worry of a live band, we're not going to limit ourselves to what we can accomplish in a studio, so we'll see.

Thank you to the few people that still check in. Your support means a lot. Seriously, thanks. And be well. -rg.

3/21/05: Reminder!!! Tune in tonight @ Midnight for the re-broadcast of our guest DJ/interview slot from the show 'FREE VERSE' on 90.3 FM. If you'd like to see where you can hear the station, check out THIS link. We talked a bit about the new CD and the band's history. We also got to play some of our fave artists and influences including Fugazi, Sunny Day Real Estate, Far, Failure, Pond, Appleseed Cast; as well as our fave locals. Tune in for it! Those of you not in NY, no worries. We are working on posting MP3 snippets of the actual interview along with a playlist from the show.

In the meantime, things are quiet for Pretty Polly as we aggresively continue to search for a replacement bass player. Steve is finishing up work on the much-delayed 'Bricks For Shoulder's full length debut. And speaking of much-delayed, Robg. is looking into finally recording 'The Great Below' full length. Check back here soon for details.

3/16/05: Mornin' folks. The Pretty Polly interview and guest DJ show from the other night will re-air twice. We went in to WHPC 90.3 FM (here in NY) with our buddy Wilkie and talked a bit about the new CD & our band's history. We also got to pick the evenings playlist, which included some of our local faves such as The Pistol Wips, The Confidentials and Steve's other band Bricks For Shoulders. The show will repeat next Monday night March 21st, 2005 at Midnight. For you early birds, I believe it will also play early Saturday morning March 19th at 6:30 am. (Hey, it's a filler slot!) Definitely tune in, and we'll try to put some MP3 snippets of the interview itself up soon.

The audition process still continues. We're hoping to find someone soon. In the meantime, Steve is finishing up work on the new Bricks For Shoulder's CD and I am going to start rehearsing for the much delayed 'The Great Below' project, which features our front cover model Jay Catropa on drums. We've been meaning to record a full length of the project we started 5 some odd years ago, and it seems we finally now have an open window. So, within the next month, we're going to try and just bang it out. Check back here for more details.

3/15/05: We hope you guys tuned in for our radio apperance last night! We just want to thank Annie at WHPC and our buddy Wilkie for joining us. We had such a great time! I believe it will be re-broadcast next Monday night as well. As soon as we get confirmation on that, we'll post the details here.

Eric is currently playing in a new band called 'The Secret Life Of Sofia'. You can check them out at The Secret Life Of Sofia.com or at myspace.com/thesecretlifeofsofia.

Meanwhile, Pretty Polly still search for a bassist.

3/13/05: Steve and myself went into WHPC 90.3 FM radio on Friday night to guest DJ and record an interview for the show 'Free Verse'. We were joined by our buddy Wilkie (for moral support) and had a great time! Thanks to Annie for having us!!! The show will air on 90.3 FM (in the general NY area) on Monday 3/14/05 @ 11:59PM & again the following Monday night. (Also, for you morning birds, they'll be an early airing next Saturday morning between 6am to 7:30am) If you'd like to see where you can hear the station, check out THIS link. Besides talking about our latest CD 'Now Or Never', we got the chance to play some of our favorite music including songs from our fellow local bands. Definitely tune in and hopefully we'll turn you onto something new! -rg.

3/8/05: Wow, it's been a while since we checked in, so time for another update! First & foremost, we have to thank all of the people that came down and took part in our CD release show on February 26th. It was probably the biggest crowd we've had at the USL, all the other bands were fantastic & we got to see old friends, while meeting plenty of new ones. Truly a memorable show and we thank you for the support.

Although we sold plenty of copies of the CD/DVD the night of the show, we've got plenty left! So, please, help us out and buy one if you haven't already. You can pay using paypal to the e-mail address PrettyPollyRG@aol.com or simply send a check (made to cash) or money order to Pretty Polly - c/o J. Novello - 218 Rockaway Turnpike, Cedarhurst, NY 11516 for $8 (for the CD) or $10 (for the CD/DVD combo) (Includes shipping).

We recieved our first review for 'Now Or Never'. It was done by our buddy Jeremy Eckhart of Grave Concerns and you can read it at his site, or on our review page. Thanks Jeremy!

Steve and Robg. will be guest DJ-ing & doing an interview for a show called 'Free Verse' on 90.3FM WHPC here in NY. Click HERE to find out how you can listen. We will post the actual air dates of the broadcast as soon as we know them ourselves! More soon! -rg.

2/26/05: THIS IS IT, FOLKS!!!! Tonight is our official CD Release show and we're so excited to finally share with you the 'Now Or Never' CD/DVD. Tonight's going to be a great show. Our friends in 'Stars In December', 'SEER', and 'Vaeda' will be there to play as well. So, we're looking forward to it. Our buddy Matt might be filming some more footage for a potential live DVD, and again, this will be Eric's last show with us on bass, so come support.

After tonight, we have a few interesting interviews and apperances lined up, which will keep us busy as we audition new bass players. So, if anything, thank you for sticking with us and for always showing your encouragment and support. You know who you are. Tonight's show is for you!

2/14/05: Happy Valentine's Day folks. We hope you spent the evening with loved ones weather it be a boyfriend/girlfriend, friends or family.

Last Friday both Robg. and Steve, along with our friend Wilkie (from the Fan Footage) filmed a short film with our buddy Matthew Schuchman. Matt was responsible for all the Pretty Polly DVD footage and recruited us all to take part in a short 4 minute "horror" film. We'll let you know how that project comes along as it's closer to completion. Speaking of, Matt will be filming our Sat. Feb. 26th show at the USL for a potential future DVD release.

2/11/05: The 'Now Or Never' CD's arrived yesterday and boy, do they look SWEET! They will be available for sale at the USL show on the 26th. We'll have info on the website on how you can purchase them on-line shortly. So, check back here in a few days. The first batch of 100 come with a DVD and a free pin. More info in a day or two.

2/8/05: Not much to report. We're looking forward to the next show, so please come on down and show your support. Our friends 'Stars In December', 'SEER', and 'Vaeda' will be on the bill with us for the Ultra Sound Lounge (Metasin) gig on Saturday February 26th. We're still waiting to hear from potential bass players as a replacement for after that show, but we haven't had much luck! Where are you, bassists!? Don't be shy. We're looking for a male OR female who has transportation & their own equipment who'd be willing to play, record and practice at least once a week. Some vocal ability is a big plus as we'd like to continue with the harmonies in Pretty Polly. E-mail us at PrettyPollyRG@aol.com.

We are going to start working on some new songs and "score"-like material for a horror film from a filmmaker Steve and I both respect and admire a lot. It's too early to say more then that, but it should be a cool project, and will at the very least keep us busy for a bit until we find a bassist. Speaking of horror, have you been to the Icons site lately? Get your horror fix at Icons Of Fright.com. -rg.

1/21/05: Well... both good news and bad news revolving our next show...

Our CD/DVD's are being pressed this very moment as we speak. And last night I got a brand new batch of pins. And stickers are on the way. All in preperation for our CD release show which will be Saturday February 26th 2005 here on Long Island at the Ultra Sound Lounge aka Metasin located on Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown, NY.

Sadly, Eric has informed us that due mostly to time restraints, it will be his last show performing live with us. We are very very proud to have had Eric, a musician whom Steve and I collectively respect and admire with us for the time he was with us. It's been among one of the best times amongst the band and we will always appreciate his efforts.

But Steve and I would really like to promote 'Now Or Never' to the fullest extent. We want to put Pretty Polly on the road. And we want to meet as many of you wonderful friends we've made along the way as possible.

Please, if anyone is interested or know anyone willing to fill in and join us on this venture then contact us at PrettyPollyRG@aol.com. Come down and enjoy the Feb 26th show. Pick up the CD/DVD combo. And spread the word that we need a bass player to continue after that.
We hope this will lead to an even better chapter in our band.

"It's not so long. it's just so long for now."
-robg./pretty polly

1/21/05: Our very good friend Chris Wilkie (whom is the first person to talk on the FAN FOOTAGE feature) recently completed a tattoo in honor of his grandmother. To our surprise, he has incorporated lyrics from the Pretty Polly song 'So Long' into his tattoo. Below are some pics!

Also, we picked up a brand new batch of 'Now Or Never' pins yesterday and placed the order for the 'Now Or Never' CD's to be pressed. We have recently confirmed a CD release show on Long Island for Saturday February 26th. The show will be at Ultra Sound Lounge in Levittown and will feature our friends 'Stars In December', 'Seer', and 'Vaeda'. It promises to be a great show. More info on the live page. Check back in with us soon. More to announce.

1/12/05: Here's an image of the back cover to the new Pretty Polly CD.

12/23/04: On behalf of Robg., Stevie D. and Eric S., we all wish you a happy holiday season and new year. Stay safe. And stay with us! 2005 is going to be a HUGE year! Cheers!

12/17/04: Final mastered mixes are in!!! The CD's going out to press and should be available along with a DVD by the New Year! 'Now Or Never' is finally upon us! You can download the official versions of 'So Comfortable' & 'Lesson Learned (The Rain Song)' on our MP3 page. You can head on over to our Pure Volume profile to download 'So Comfortable' and listen to the final mixes of 'So Long' & 'All You're Lacking Is Substance'. And then hit up the My Space profile to download 'So Comfortable' and/or 'Lesson Learned (The Rain Song)' & listen to 'The Pronunciation Of You' & 'And All You're Lacking Is Substance'. *(as of this morning, the My Space page was having some technical problems. We're working on re-uploading the tracks so be patient there) Don't forget to watch our promotional 6-minute EPK, shot & edited by our friend Matthew Schuchman on this site's 'VIDEO PAGE'. And for another little taste of what to expect on the DVD, check out the 'FAN FOOTAGE' featurette to meet some of our friends and see outtakes from the EPK. In other band related news, Stevie D.'s other band, Bricks For Shoulders will be recording their brand new CD with our buddy Sean, who worked on Pretty Polly's 'Now Or Never'. More soon! Have a great weekend, folks! -rg.

12/13/04: Just Added: "THE FAN FOOTAGE" video! Watch it now!!! From the upcoming 'Now Or Never' DVD. We invite you to meet some of our friends and fans. Enjoy! And thanks to all of those that took part in it.

12/10/04: Tonight's our gig at the VP South in Amittyville as part of the 'Deca-Fest 2004'. It's the only thing we have booked at the moment, so please come on down and show your support! The other bands on the bill are Deserted Followers, Grinding Faith, Outernational & The Repercussions; so it should be a great night of diverse music! Once again, some of the event organizers and other bands on the bill have promoted us in fliers by mentioning previous bands we've been involved in. We personally do NOT approve or condone these fliers. We apologize to anyone in advance whom might have been midlead. Regardless, we look forward to playing & meeting a lot of new people tonight. I was working on all the "bonus features" for our 'Now Or Never' DVD last night with Matt. There's going to be a hilarious 3 minute 'fan footage' featurette; as well as a 'rehearsal footage' section and a 'live footage' section. It'll all be worth the wait. (We hope!) Check back soon for more updates and hopefully... some big news to come! -rg.

11/23/04: The VIDEO is up and running on the site as of this morning! The clip was shot & edited by filmmaker Matthew Schuchman. It runs at 6 minutes long and features band interviews, live footage and rehearsal footage; all to coincide with the release of our new CD 'Now Or Never'. Check it out now on the Video page. I apologize in advance, but you will need a fast internet connection and a recent version of Windows Media Player. We're working on a way to offer different versions of the clip to work on your computer. You can right click the link at the bottom of the Video page and save the clip to keep on your comp. Check back later in the week for the final versions of the tracks from 'Now Or Never'. Details on the CD/DVD release are coming! -rg.

11/22/04: The promotional Pretty Polly EPK film is just about complete. Our good friend Matthew Schuchman is working on the final edit today and we'll hopefully be able to place it on line shortly thereafter. Also, I just spoke to Sean last night, and we should finally have the new mix of 'Now Or Never' by the end of this week; complete with Eric's vocal contributions. We're really excited about everything finally coming together the way it is. The short film will be packaged with the new CD as a bonus DVD, and we're hoping to include some bonus outtake footage as a special feature. Check back next week for ALL the official updates. Next show is December 10th at the VP South in Amittyville, NY and it's 16 and up! You can purchase advance tickets for the event thru wrongislandproductions@yahoo.com. Also, for the record; Pretty Polly is NOT promoting the show by crediting any of the previous bands or projects we may have been involved in. We hope that if you do see a flyer that mentions things we've been a part of from our past, that you're not misled or disappointed. OUR flyers for the show (again beautifully designed by Eric) will be out there as of this week. -rg.

11/17/04: Last weekend's show was fantastic! Thank you to ALL our friends and fans, both old and new for coming out to show your support. Special thanks to the other bands Idoru, With Every Idle Hour and THE DEADMEN for working with us to make everything run smooth. We truly had an amazing time. Our buddy Matt was on hand to film footage for our upcoming promotion EPK video. We've already seen a rough cut which runs about 6 minutes long and features live footage, rehearsal footage and interviews. Both the band & Matt are really proud of the project thus far and can't wait to share it with you. We'll be posting it on line & also including a DVD version of it with 'Now Or Never' when it's officially ready for release. In the meantime, you can check out a minute long teaser trailer on our MP3 page. We were batting around some new song ideas at practice last night, and there are some promising songs in the works. Most notably, a tune which Stevie wrote the main riff for. It's very similar to his last song contribution, which turned out to be 'The Pronunciation Of You'. Dare I say this new song is... upbeat!? More soon! -rg.

11/12/04: Our grand return gig is tomorrow night!!! The band is really excited to play again and we're looking forward to tomorrow evening's performance with our friends in Idoru, With Every Idle Hour and THE DEADMEN. Go to the show page for all the details. We've added a video clip to the MP3 page! It's a quick 52 second teaser clip culled from rehearsal footage by our friend Matt Schuchman. We're going to be filming tomorrow night's show, as well as some interview footage to put together for a promotional EPK film to coincide with the release of 'Now Or Never'. Check out the teaser now! -rg.

11/5/04: We've posted a picture gallery, loaded with all new pics of the band from a photo shoot we did with our good friend Jake Lloyd. Go to the Picture Gallery page to check them out or simply click here. Jake's band Idoru will be opening for us at next weeks big return show at the USL. Check out the live page for details. We also added a special 16 & up show for Friday Dec. 10th at Saints N Sinners in Smithtown. Please come on down and show your support. We're waiting on the last mixes of 'Now Or Never', with Eric's vocals on them. We should have 'em sometime this weekend. Then they get shipped out to be pressed for mass consumption. Hopefully, you, the masses will want them. See you next week! -rg.

10/25/04: We just updated the Pretty Polly review page on the site. A friend of ours saved us a review of our last EP release "That Was Then & This Is Now" which was printed in the August edition of Good Times Magazine.(Thanks Katie!!!) Go to the review page to read that, as well as reviews for all our other past efforts. Also, we've got a bit more info on Nov. 13th's USL show. Check it out on the live page. Our friends in With Every Idle Hour & Idoru will be on the bill, with one more band to be announced. Idoru is relocating to Florida soon, so this show will be big for all of us. Come on down and support. We'll ALL have a great time together. I'm hoping we'll have the CD's ready by the show, as well as plenty of other Pretty Polly merch. Check back here for the latest and again... thanks to you! -rg.

10/21/04: Hey folks. We went into the studio with Sean last night for one more vocal session. Eric sang his vocals and harmonies on all 5 tracks of the CD, and he really helped put 'Now Or Never' over the top. We've got most of our CD artwork together, so as soon as we get this mix back from Sean, we're sending the disc off to be pressed & it will finally be available. We appreciate your patience. Feel free to download the versions on our MP3 page while they're here. We will only be posting a few songs off the final version once it's done. (After all, we DO want you to help us out & buy the final disc!) First show back is Nov. 13th at USL in Levittown, NY. Please don't miss it! More details on that soon. -rg.

10/18/04: Our first show back and with Eric is booked for Saturday November 13th at the Ultra Sound Lounge (aka Metasin) in Levittown. Still early to reveal all the details, but check on the show page for info. Wednesday of this week, we're going into the studio one last time to have Eric sing his parts on the 'Now Or Never' CD EP. We feel he adds a lot to the songs, so we wanted him to be on the final version before it gets pressed and released. Should be available shortly after. Are all of you on my space? We have a profile set up there at www.myspace.com/prettypolly, so if you're on there give us an add. And if not, then sign up, because it's free. More soon. -rg.

10/13/04: Hello friends. Sorry for the delay in updates. I've been so busy with the Icons Of Fright site and other band related business that I forgot I haven't checked in in a while! Our good friend Eric S. formally vocalist/ guitarist of one of our favorite local bands, Old College Try is currently playing bass for Pretty Polly. He's been with us for a few weeks now, but we've been keeping it tight-lipped while we continued to practice and got our equipment situation in order. Steve and I have a lot of respect for Eric & we're happy that he'll be joining us for the next phase of Pretty Polly. He sings & harmonizes on just about every track, so we're excited to have that new aspect to the band. We hope you'll be pleasently surprised next time you see us live. In fact, we'll be playing live again starting the second week of November, so check back soon for dates. I know 'Now Or Never' has taken forever to come out, but we just want it to be perfect. Right now, we're finalizing artwork, but it will be available by the time we play live again. So, once again, thanks to our true friends & fans for their support. See ya soon. -rg.
